Having both German and Polish family roots, I am very sensitive to symbols and slogans referring to racism and violence. Unfortunately we find these attitudes wherever we may go. My opinion is that experiences and lessons, that we should have learnt from the past, must be passed on and that these pieces of evidence to the contrary must not be ignored, but must be exposed.
These grafitti were created in New Zealand in the early 1990s, just after a new government had taken up office under the banner of creating a "DECENT SOCIETY". As a result of this we experienced a decrease in public funding for health services, education and social services, while gaining a dramatic increase in crime, violence and unemployment.
